Community Service Events
The Family Montessori is dedicated to serving our local community. We are constantly looking for new opportunities to volunteer. Below are a few of the organizations around town we have our regular community service projects through.
Angel Tree with The Salvation Army- Bryan, TX
Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year.
United Way of the Brazos Valley- Bryan, TX
During the holiday season, The Family Montessori works with United Way to strengthen the local community with an overarching goal of driving meaningful and measurable improvement in education, financial stability and health. Specifically, we adopt a set of families in need of clothing, school supplies, household items, and other basic necessities which we collect and provide. We are grateful to have such loving and compassionate families who have participated in this event and many others across the community.
Voices for Children- Bryan, TX
Each December, we set up a beautiful Christmas tree set up with special decorations and sweet, little owl ornaments dressing the stems. Behind each owl was a child’s name and age written from a list attained from the Voices for Children organization. Voices For Children, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to children in our local community. Their mission is to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children under the court's jurisdiction until each child is placed into a safe, nurturing, and permanent home and to ensure that each child's needs are addressed and fully met. The families at our school were encouraged to take an ornament home and purchase gifts for these deserving children in order to make their holidays a special one. Our children were excited to take an owl home and help their parents buy a thoughtful gift for these children.
The Bridge Ministries Food Pantry- Bryan, TX
The food pantry at The Bridge Ministries is our newest connection in the BCS community. They are the only evening-based food pantry in the Brazos County that assists all Texas residents. In addition to food, The Bridge also provides necessities like diapers and toiletries. Brazos County is ranked in the top 20 counties with the highest number of food insecure residents. To help support this organization and serve our community, the families at our school have been able to assist in various ways. We have helped sort and organize foods, prepare grocery bags for easier transport of items, and pack snack bags for the families in our community. We are so grateful for opportunities like these to truly make an impact in our local community.
