Mrs. Sunita
Owner
Mrs. Sunita brings more than 18 years of childcare experience from the Austin market encompassing roles as an Owner, Director, and Lead Teacher from some of the most reputable and successful Montessori schools in Austin. Prior to entering the childcare industry, she first received a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications from The University of Texas at Austin, which was followed by obtaining an AMS Montessori certification in Primary education from the Montessori Teacher Education Institute in Houston. In 2016, Mrs. Sunita also obtained a Child Development Associates certification from the Council for Professional Recognition. Her husband, Anu, is also a graduate from the University of Texas, but his roots began in Bryan/College Station as he is a proud graduate of A&M Consolidated High School, and his family has resided in B/CS for more than 25 years. In 2012, they became the proud parents of their son, Syen, and in 2015, they welcomed their daughter Iyla. The privilege of becoming parents only heightened their passion for caring for and developing children and incorporating the Montessori method. Mrs. Sunita's interest for the Montessori education first peaked in 2007 after meeting Ms. Lydia Cumings, the previous and proud owner of The Montessori Schoolhouse here in BCS. Ms. Lydia had taught and nurtured many of their family friends in this town and fostered an environment based on intimacy, education, and collaboration. Inspired by this notion and coupled with her own experiences in the Austin market, Mrs. Sunita and her husband are proud to be the owners of The Family Montessori of BCS. "With an excitement for teaching and a love for children, I enjoy guiding children through their daily academic journey. I truly believe children are brilliant, curious little sponges, who can soak up so much information." "Working in the Montessori classroom has taught me that lessons should be interesting and thought-provoking; also, I believe that education can be stress-free if children are given love, patience, and support. Therefore, I strive to make my teaching as engaging and fun as possible to captivate and encourage children. If children are happy and having a good time learning, their success in the academic realm will come naturally."
Ms. Amanda
Director/Administration
Ms. Amanda brings more than 10 years of Montessori teaching experience to our school. Born and raised in the Bryan area, she graduated from Bryan High School before beginning her career at a local preschool. It was there that she discovered Maria Montessori's philosophy and immediately fell in love with its child-centered approach. Since then, she has dedicated her career to creating nurturing environments where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. Ms. Amanda is the proud mother of three wonderful children—Jude, Penelope, and Jack. She considers motherhood the greatest joy of her life and credits it with deepening her understanding of children's unique needs and development. She has earned her Montessori Certificate and is passionate about fostering each child's independence, confidence, curiosity, and love of learning. "Every day is filled with tiny milestones, big personalities, and lots of laughter. Watching children grow more confident and independent is what makes this work so rewarding."
Mrs. Kamille
Assistant Director/
Lead Primary Teacher
Mrs. Kamille was born in Washington state, but grew up in College Station, Texas. Mrs. Kamille found her passion for Montessori and early childhood education at The Family Montessori in 2014. Mrs. Kamille pursued her passion and obtained her Montessori Certification from the North American Montessori Center in 2021. She brings a passion for education, joy, and love to each child everyday. Ms. Laila
Lead Toddler Teacher
Ms. Laila was born and raised right here in the BCS area. She graduated from Rudder High School and is currently attending Blinn with aspirations to become a phlebotomist. Ms. Laila is the oldest of four children and joins the TFM family with over 2 years of childcare experience. Her favorite thing about teaching is the energy the children bring and the great opportunity as a teacher to assist in a child’s developmental milestones. “When you find out who you are, you find out what you need.”- Mama Odie from The Princess and the Frog
Ms. Quanisha
Primary Teacher
Ms. Quanisha was born and raised in Bryan, Texas, and comes from a long line of hardworking truck drivers, military service members, medical professionals, social workers, and childcare providers. As the oldest of five siblings, she has spent many years caring for her younger siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She also served in her church’s nursery ministry for five years and continues to enjoy serving in children’s ministry. A graduate of Bryan High School, Quanisha plans to attend college to study psychology, business management, and kinesiology. She believes working with children allows her to be herself, have fun, and make a lasting impact. She is passionate about partnering with families to help children grow into kind, confident, and successful leaders while celebrating each milestone along the way. “Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them.” — Rita Pierson
Ms. Adrianna
Toddler Teacher
Ms. Adrianna was born and raised in Bryan, Texas. She has a precious daughter named Rosalynn. Ms. Adrianna has been the “family nanny” for years and she enjoys being with children and watching them grow. She has been with The Family Montessori for about 8 months and is very excited to be a part of the TFM Family! “In teaching, we plant the seeds of knowledge, but it’s the children who makes them bloom.” - Maria Montessori
Ms. Sydney is originally from Hutto, Texas, and moved to the Bryan/College Station area in 2023 after graduating from high school. She discovered her passion for teaching while working at The Family Montessori and loves seeing the excitement, curiosity, and energy children bring to the learning process. Ms. Sydney is excited to share her passion for teaching and create a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment for everyone in the classroom! “If children feel safe, they can take risks, ask questions, make mistakes, learn to trust, share their feelings, and grow.” ~ Alfie Kohn
Ms. Jeaniyah is the middle child of three siblings and has lived in the Bryan/College Station area for the majority of her life. She graduated from Bryan High School in 2024 and is currently continuing her education while working toward obtaining her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Eventually, she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Child Development. Ms. Jeaniyah has one year of experience working in childcare and is passionate about creating a positive and nurturing environment for children.
